Software Updates:
Could you realese software fixes and updates more frequently through
the Flyer Files BBS area or better (for Internet users) through your
Internet FTP site?

Sequencing of Events:
1) Program output flashes when a framestore is pre-loading on the
Preview bus while a project is playing back.  I have tried to
re-calibrate and to autohue several times but this don't seem to be the
problem.  I don't recall this happening with previous versions of the
software.
2) I am currently editing a project that's over 10 min long, most of it
is made of digitized segments edited on tape that are 30 sec. to 1 min.
long but in the middle of the project, I had to insert a new sequence
made of 2 to 5 sec. cuts with a lots of A/B rolls and split edits.  I
have some problems playing back the all project without getting random
audio or video glitches when getting to this new edited part. I am
getting frames jumps  before cut transitions (it looks like the video
drives backs up a couple frames right before cutting to the next clip
that's located on the same drive.  when I playback from this new
portion, it's fine, the glithches don't show.
3) split edits still seem to be the culprit for most sequencing
problems.  My sequencing problems are mostly audio glitches, pops or
stutters.  I get video stutter very occasionally even if am using HQ-5
with my Seagates which I do now all the time since I consider the
"standard" quality not good enough for broadcast applications

Timing of Events:
I requested on previous reports a working program In, Out and Duration
time display but nothing appear to have changed with the realese of
4.03.  Could we at least have a way to time a series of clips by shift
clicking  on them and then a pop up time code calculator that would
allow us to subtract or ad the selected clips total duration to the In
or Out Audio or Video point of a master clip these cut-away clips would
be inserted In. I know, my explanation looks complicated....
well....,just tried to lay down a clip of a talking head, insert 5 or 6
short cut-away shots and go back to the talking head, you'll know what
I mean......

Backup:
This is the big problem right now. The program is full of bugs, I get
only half the capacity of the 4 Gigs my DAT tapes should be able to
backup ( and that's non- compressed) and restoring a project is really
scary since most of the time, files got either corrupted, misplaced or
worst..... lost.  I know you are all aware of these backup problems but
I just want to emphases here that digital video without reliable backup
is a nightmare.

Cutting Room:
PLEASE, ALLOW US TO DISABLE IT. It's nice to have it but I found it
really slow to process the marked clips and a little cumbersome to use.
Cutting Room should be an option we could turn on an off from the
digitize window

Digitized Video:
HQ-5 looks really great and very close to the output of my BVW Betacam
SP machines. Too bad that no 9 gig drive on the market can sustain the
necessary data transfer rate all across the disks surface.  Are you
planning to support any disk arrays systems like AVID and Data
Translation do to obtain their best image quality?

CG:
1) drop shadows don't show on crawl and scroll pages.
2) Sometimes, kerning varies from the CG output from the CG program and
the output of a sequenced crawl or scroll page while playing back a
project
3) When generating a poscript "text brush", the bottom of the
characters is cropped
4) The are still a lot of problems with sequencing of crawl of scroll
pages. They usually work perfect from the CG but when trying to play
them back from the project/files interface of from a project playing
back they very often crash or lockthe machine.  It seems to me that
length, width and PS font choice affects it. Usually a very short
scroll or crawl page that's not to wide plays back fine.

Toaster Paint 2000:
1) See previous reports. None of all the bugs I mentioned before seemed
tohave been even looked at and that's annoying.
2) Many times, the solid fill tool seems to not work.

improvments.
